As the Israeli government does everything it its power to kill the two state solution, does the government have any idea or strategy to stop them? It seems not. And as many will know, I was just as critical of the previous government and their lack of action.
Asking the Prime Minister about the impact of new steel tariffs on manufacturing and particularly on Stannah Stairlifts in Andover. Let’s hope it results in action to sort out a damaging mess.
A big day for the long campaign to protect kids from social media and phones generally. While the ban and other measures are very welcome, there will be devil in the detail. Enforcement must target big tech, not the parents.
Two outrageous planning applications have recently been allowed with the National Landscape (AONB). This is a very worrying precedent and I urged the minister to introduce stronger protections in the new NPPF.
With planning applications for solar farms appearing across North West Hants, shouldn’t we try to be more imaginative about where they go so we can protect our landscape and food production?
I recently held an anti social behaviour summit in Andover to discuss problems and solutions for the town centre. All the people needed were there: TVBC and the County, Police and Crime Commissioner, local charities, police officers and the BID. My thanks to all for a really constructive session.
A great pleasure to open the Little Pioneers Nursery at Woolton Hill Infants. A big team effort was needed to get permission to open this lovely new space for our smallest citizens, from the Head and staff to governors and councillors, we all had to unite to push it through. With space for 22, and 16 already signed up, it looks to be a very welcome addition to village life. Bravo to all involved.
I sit on the Science Innovation and Technology Select Committee, and it’s our job to assess senior appointments to regulators like Ofcom - here is my run on questions to the new incoming chair of the organisation which should be our defence from the massive companies that dominate our lives.
Progress on the long campaign to protect kids from social media and phones generally. While the ban and other measures are very welcome, there will be devil in the detail. Enforcement must target big tech, not the parents.
Amid the unfolding horror in Sudan, questions have been raised about whether the government knew, and refused to act before the genocide in El Fasher, Sudan, I asked for an inquiry to get to the truth.
I’ve been working closely with Andover businesses on the imposition of steel import quotas. As the deadline nears, we are now into the details, hence my question to the minister.
The latest developments in the compensation scheme are welcome, but the details matter.
