Kit opens new padel courts at 90-year old club

Kit has officially opened the new padel courts at Andover Lawn Tennis Club, celebrating a major investment in community sport as the club marks its 90th anniversary.

 Speaking after the opening, he said: 

“Great sports clubs don’t just produce great players, they bring communities together. They give people of all ages somewhere to learn new skills, stay active, and create friendships.

“Andover Lawn Tennis Club has been doing exactly that for 90 years. It’s wonderful to see the club continuing to grow, investing in both tennis and padel. 

“This is a fantastic community asset and a real credit to everyone who has worked so hard to make it a success. I’m delighted to officially open the new padel courts, and I might even have a go myself.”

Founded in 1936, Andover Lawn Tennis Club has grown from a small local club into a modern sports facility serving Andover and the wider Test Valley. The club now has five tennis courts, including two indoor all-weather courts and three floodlit outdoor courts, alongside its new dedicated padel courts. It offers junior coaching, competitive league tennis and opportunities for people of all ages to get involved.
